UV Pure announces exclusive global supply contract with Kinetico

Kinetico chose UV Pure to develop and produce Kinetico-branded UV water purification systems to its own engineering specifications, and UV Pure developed the systems exclusively for Kinetico. The systems use UV Pure’s patented and advantaged Crossfire Technology®. The launch will begin with dealers in North America, and will be subsequently rolled out to its global distribution network in nearly 100 countries.
UV Pure products meet new low lead content requirements in California and Vermont.

The State of California recently added low lead content requirements for plumbing products to its Health Safety Code (Section 116875; commonly known as AB 1953). Any pipe, fitting or fixture that comes into contact with potable water must meet acceptable – a weighted average of 0.25% - lead content standards.

All of UV Pure’s products including the Hallett, Upstream and Cactus lines will be certified to AB 1953 standards as of January 1, 2010. The state of Vermont has also passed similar legislation, and we expect the requirements will extend to other states and provinces in the coming months.
“What I like about the Hallett is its simplicity”

Jim Cox is the water operations manager at Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities, Canada’s leading owner, operator and developer of land lease residential communities and seasonal resorts. He uses the Hallett 13/30 at several properties and has recently chosen several more for ongoing upgrades and updating units that don’t meet current standards. He says, “of the four UV water purification systems we use, I get the best results with the Hallett”.

According to Jim, the Hallett’s best feature is its simplicity, so he’s able to diagnose and solve any issues quickly and easily. He’s also used UV Pure’s technical support which he says “is there when you need it”, and when he’s ordered replacement parts, “they are there the next day”. Jim plans on ordering more units as new acquisitions and upgrades continue at Parkbridge.
Training for Ontario Ministry of Health Inspectors includes UV Pure units

The Ontario Ministry of Health is sponsoring training sessions for its Public Health Inspectors on the evaluation of water systems beyond municipal jurisdictions. One of the instructors is Dr. Ron Hofmann, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, who outlines the program that deals with various water disinfection technologies including UV.

During the course, inspectors learn to check if the UV system is properly maintained and delivering an adequate dose. Dr. Hofmann stresses the importance of NSF 55 Class A certification as “the bottom line of what inspectors should be looking for”, because without it, “there’s no way of knowing”. As part of the training, a UV Pure NSF 55 Class A certified Hallett unit was used in the demonstration.
