UV Pure units still going strong in Alberta’s Jasper National Park

Several years ago, we did a case study about the installation of a UV Pure system for wastewater at Miette Hot Springs. At the time, Nathan Ward (then a Water Quality Technologist for Parks Canada) said that the application was "a total success", so we thought we'd check back in to see how things were going. Nathan, now the CEO of AquaDiversities Inc. is still impressed, especially with the Hallett's self-cleaning feature that is still performing well. He says "I'm surprised the units haven't had to be disassembled and cleaned since the day they were installed, back in the summer of 2006" and that "the units are well designed and created for the end user." He is pleased to have recently installed several additional UV Pure units in rural and municipal applications in British Columbia and Alberta.

UV Pure gets official approval from the state of Wisconsin

Wisconsin’s Department of Commerce recently approved the Hallett UV Water Purifiers to inactivate microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts from contaminated water.

For Hydro-Flo, a UV Pure commercial product representative based in Brookfield WI, this is good news as it helps to explain the benefits of UV to those unfamiliar with the various options for water purification. According to Dave Baldus, Hydro-Flo works with the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, within Wisconsin, to determine product specifications in a variety of industries including health care. They then track projects and work with contractors and installers to have the products they represent installed. Dave is pleased with the relationship with UV Pure and can get answers anytime he’s in the field.

A great new book on the state of our oceans

Released this spring, Alanna Mitchell’s Sea Sick is the first book to explain how the global ocean — 99 per cent of the planet's living space — is undergoing vast chemical changes at the hand of man and why that matters.

Named by the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and the Reuters Foundation as the world’s best environmental journalist, Alanna is also a former journalist for The Globe and Mail. Add this thoughtful and riveting book to your summer reading list – for more http://www.alannamitchell.com/seasick.html
