UV Pure participates in Ontario/Mexican Trade Mission

UV Pure, at the invitation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in Ontario, was part of a Trade Mission to Mexico in late November. Dave Lancaster, a principal in MexWater Systems, UV Pure’s Mexican distribution partner was on hand and provides some of the highlights from the trip.

“With a lot of ground to cover in a few short days we hit the ground running,” explained Dave Lancaster. “Overall it was a very nice blend of government and industry, getting to know each other and sharing ideas. There is a large market there for UV disinfection. Though time was of the essence Lancaster had nothing but kudos for the trade mission’s organizers and the level of contacts provided. GAES Consultancy (the organizers, on behalf of the Ontario and Mexican governments) did a superb job of matchmaking between the Canadian participants and government agencies.

It was kind of like speed dating but on a higher level,” he continued. “We’d go into the Water Commission do a presentation, then each company would meet individually with their government counterpart and then we’d be off to the next place. UV Pure’s Crossfire Technology was very well received, they like the easy to clean aspect and that the sensors do not make contact in the water. I want to thank the Ontario government and GAES the sheer number of people we met and the quality of contacts – it was amazing.”

Five Ontario companies participated in the trade mission including: GE Water Processing, IBU Group, SanCor, World Water Operator Training Company and UV Pure Technologies. MexWater Systems’ Gerardo Huitron, Director of Construction Waste, made the UV Pure presentation. As the only one given by a Canadian company in Spanish, as you can imagine, it went over very well with our Mexican hosts.”

“UV Pure’s representatives had the chance to meet a hundred new contacts during the activities on the Mexico mission, all of whom I’m sure, they thoroughly delighted,” said Mary Claire Whitaker, GAES Consultancy. “This included state and national government water commissions, housing developers, contractors, and manufacturers. Since the trip, we have been hearing of significant Mexican interest in UV Pure.”

According to Rick VanSant, CEO of UV Pure Technologies, “Canadian federal and provincial trade missions are an effective and supportive tactic for our target export markets and we expect to increase our participation as our export distribution footprint grows.”

UV Dealer Profile on Jackson Water Conditioning Limited

North of Toronto in the small town of Woodville, Ontario Jackson Water Conditioning Limited has been providing sales and service for ultraviolet sterilizers, filtration and water treatment equipment since 1993. Jackson Water Conditioning Limited is licensed by the MOE (Wells and Regulated Drinking Water Systems) certified in Backflow and Cross Connection, and members of the Canadian Water Quality Association, Ontario Ground Water Association, Canadian Ground Water Association and Campground Association.

Lorne Jackson with over 35 years in the industry, heads up the family business that includes his sons Jason and Matthew and his daughter Jennifer. Jackson Water is an independent water conditioning company covering a large area of Ontario. Jackson Water has established a stellar reputation for their expert, professional service and the top-notch products they sell. Their clients branch out from Provincial and Federal contracts as well as including residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and cottages. “We’ve been carrying UV Pure products since they were first available,” explained Lorne, “We started carrying UV Pure because they were the first company with an NSF 55 Class A Certification that met the Ontario Safe Water Drinking Act. These systems were primarily installed in campgrounds and day care centers.

UV Pure products are unique in the ultraviolet treatment world and have created a real niche for themselves. UV Pure backs their product with excellent service support. With UV Pure we can pick up the phone anytime and get the service we need.”

One of Jackson’s most recent UV Pure installations was comprised of multiple Hallett units (a Hallett triplex in this particular application). The objective was to eliminate pathogens for supply water in a Lake Ontario fish hatchery with ties to the municipal and nuclear industries. The units had to handle 40-45 gallons a minute of continual flow. The advantage of using UV Pure units is that they are self-cleaning and contain UV Pure’s patented Crossfire Technology design.

Jackson Water is committed to the industry and that extends to education as well. With his son Jason, Lorne teach courses at Fleming College in Lindsay and Peterborough on Ontario’s regulated water standards and on Public Health and Natural Resources.

UV Pure and Jackson Water Conditioning are working hard to provide safe, clean water always to all of their customers.
