3M Canada Announces Exclusive Distribution Agreement with UV Pure Technologies

3M`s CUNO filtration division expands product line offering with UV Pure Technologies

LONDON, Ontario, – December 15, 2008 –3M Canada announced today an exclusive distribution agreement with UV Pure Technologies of Toronto, Canada, a global leader in effective ultraviolet water purification.

The agreement grants 3M`s CUNO filtration division exclusive rights to distribute the entire line of UV Pure’s water purification systems through plumbing wholesale channels in Canada. The agreement allows for the sale into other channels on a non-exclusive basis.

UV Pure’s Hallett™ series product line is NSF/ANSI 55 Class A certified, the global gold standard accepted by environmental regulatory agents worldwide. The Upsteam™ product line is engineered to achieve the same performance standards as the Hallett series NSF/ANSI 55 Class A systems but for use where regulations do not require it. Upstream systems’ effectiveness includes ultraviolet transmittance levels as low as 50 per cent.

Both product lines incorporate the company’s patented Crossfire Technology™ which is self-cleaning, smart and engineered to be fail-safe. They also contain multiple sensors and a microprocessor to monitor all aspects of water treatment to ensure consistent, safe drinking water . All systems are capable of remote monitoring.

The products provide clean drinking water in thousands of regulated environments such as municipalities, schools, and hospitals, and will now be available for residential installations across Canada.

UV Pure’s proven technology is effective for disinfection of water-borne pathogens including viruses, bacteria, cryptosporidium, giardia, Legionella and E. coli.
