Jasper National Park Chooses Hallett for Potable Water Systems.
At Canada’s world renowned Jasper National Park, UV Pure Technologies’ Hallett system provides potable water every day. The park maintains a wide range of facilities where water and wastewater systems are required including campgrounds, staff quarters, Visitors' Stations and public restrooms. Across this range of facilities, the source water can vary from deep ground-water wells to surface water. This can present a challenge for park officials who must constantly keep abreast of best available technologies for water purification and wastewater treatment.
For the park’s smaller system, they collaborated with Sigma Environmental Solutions of Calgary AB, to develop a system using graduated cartridge filtration and Hallett 13s. Since their installation in a number of facilities last year, these systems have reliably provided safe water and park officials are very pleased with the Hallett systems’ low maintenance and operational demands.
Jasper Park also installed waste water systems using Halletts for UV treatment with great success, and this case study will be published in an upcoming newsletter.
"Throughout Jasper National Park we have implemented many upgrades to our potable water systems as technologies have developed. These systems vary from campgrounds serving up to 5000 people per day to typical staff accommodations. Source water varies from deep ground-water wells to surface sources. For our smaller facilities, excluding distribution systems, we used a system consisting of graduated cartridge filtration down to 1 micron absolute and UV disinfection with Hallett systems.
