Music Camp Protects Their Residents and Staff with Hallett™ Technology.

An established residential music camp, based in Wisconsin, decided to be proactive about protecting their residents and staff from the risk of well water microbial contamination. They hired Rob Rock of Therma-Tron-X to specify and install a water purification system. Rob needed a technology that met Wisconsin regulations, which require either Wisconsin Department of Commerce or National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) certification for UV purification systems installed in private or non-community water systems.

In the course of his research, Rob learned about UV Pure’s NSF certified Hallett systems.

"The design is great — it has unique features that aren’t available in other competing systems such as the bulbs mounted in air and the self-cleaning capabilities. The camp water is secure because, in addition to the audible alarm, the system shuts down the water flow if there is a problem. The dual sensors— one measuring UV lamp output and one measuring UV transmittance, gave me confidence that the self-monitoring technology was best-of-class." — Robert G. Rock, Chemical Engineer, Therma-Tron-X, Inc.

Therma-Tron-X used 6 Hallett-30 units to provide a skid-mounted, 180 GPM water purification system for the camp. The modular system was also particularly suitable for this client since the well water distribution system is located within an old farmhouse and installation of the system required moving the modules through the existing doorways and hallways. The modular system also offered adaptability to the range in flow requirements by season, and it could be expanded in the future as the camp enrollments continued to grow. The system runs year around, however, only the core staff use the facility in the winter months. With the modular system feature of Hallett 30s, the camp operating benefits include reducing the number of units that run in the winter, reduced lamp running time and electrical demands.

The camp also purchased the Hallett Diagnostic Tool (HDT). Rob trained the staff to test the water on a weekly basis and keep a running log of test results.

"Since the system was installed in May ‘ 05, I visited the camp several times this past summer to check on things, and we have had no issues. I am very pleased with the units and I look forward to doing more business with UV Pure." — Robert G. Rock, Therma-Tron-X, Inc.
